BETHLEHEM, PA — Wawa is kicking off the 2024-2025 school year by giving back to educators through its annual “Cheers to Classrooms” initiative.
From Monday, September 2, to Sunday, September 15, teachers and school staff can enjoy a free cup of hot coffee at any Wawa location across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C.
This gesture is part of Wawa’s tradition of celebrating educators’ hard work and dedication as they return to the classroom.
Teachers and school staff need only inform the cashier of their role within the school system to claim a free hot coffee in-store.
“As everyday heroes of the classroom return to school, we’re delighted to toast a new year by providing free coffee to teachers and school staff,” said Dave Simonetti, Senior Director of Store Operations at Wawa.
The offer is available for any size hot coffee, but only in-store, not through the Wawa app or delivery services.
Wawa is well known for its generous coffee giveaways. It frequently offers free cups for National Coffee Day and Veteran’s Day events.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wawa extended this gesture to healthcare workers and first responders to show appreciation for their service during a challenging time.
Wawa continues this tradition with its “Cheers to Classrooms” initiative, which focuses on supporting educators as they return to school.
We spoke to a staff member at a local Wawa who shared their thoughts on the initiative. “They deserve it,” the employee said, noting the small cost to the company. “They sell one cup of coffee and it pays for the whole pot, so they’re not really losing any money off of it.”
This initiative is just one way the popular convenience store chain shows appreciation to the educators who make a difference daily.
