ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man will serve at least 6½ years in state prison after pleading guilty Thursday to third-degree murder in the shooting death of a 19-year-old during what witnesses called an armed game of “quick draw” in Catasauqua.
Samuel Colon, 24, admitted to the Nov. 8, 2025, killing of Ti’Shaun Singleton, of Allentown, at a home at 250 Edward Lane, District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced Friday.
The negotiated plea, nearly a year after the shooting, means the case will not go to trial. Court records show prosecutors amended the criminal homicide count to third-degree murder Thursday and withdrew the other charges: aggravated assault and five counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Lehigh County Judge James T. Anthony will set the maximum sentence, which could reach 40 years, at sentencing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2027, according to the district attorney’s office. Anthony ordered a pre-sentence investigation, court records show.

Catasauqua police and EMS were called to the Edward Lane home for a report of a shooting at 4:37 p.m. that day and found Singleton dead inside, according to the district attorney’s office. Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio ruled his death, from a gunshot wound to the chest, a homicide.
Witnesses told investigators that Singleton and Colon were playing a game they named “quick draw” and both were armed with guns, the release said. As the two men drew their weapons, Colon shot Singleton.
Nearby surveillance video showed two people dragging Singleton out of the house and several people running away, and one person later carried him back inside, according to the release. A child and several other people were in the home at the time. The gun was taken after the shooting and never recovered.
Colon fled and remained at large until he surrendered to police in April, the district attorney’s office said. Court records show he has been held in Lehigh County Jail since April 20, when a district judge denied bail.
The case was investigated by Detective Amaury Almonte of the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and Catasauqua police Detective Chris Wittik. Chief Deputy District Attorney Michael T. Edwards is prosecuting.
