Lehigh Daily (lehighdaily.com and its newsletter) is published by Lehigh Media Limited, a Pennsylvania limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. Questions? Email jsmith@lehighdaily.com.
The short version
- We don’t sell your personal information or use it to target ads ourselves.
- You can unsubscribe at any time and ask us to delete your information.
Information you give us
- Your email address when you sign up for our newsletter, including when a story asks for it to keep reading
- What you send when you contact us or ask about advertising
- Your name, email address and payment details when you contribute (payments are handled by our payment provider)
- Your answers in our games, which are counted without your name or email address and deleted shortly after each question closes.
Information collected automatically
When you use our site or read our newsletter, we and our service providers collect information such as the pages you visit, how you found us, your device and browser, your approximate location, and how you interact with our newsletter (for example, opens and clicks).
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to remember your preferences and subscription, measure how the site is used, and keep it secure. Some embedded content and service providers may set their own cookies, and some of these third parties may collect information about your activity on our site and other sites over time. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
How we use information
- To provide our site and newsletter
- To understand our audience and improve our journalism and services
- To respond to you
- To process and record contributions
- To keep the site secure and to comply with the law
Sharing
We share information with service providers that help us run Lehigh Daily (for example hosting, security, email delivery, analytics and payments) so they can provide those services to us. Some providers, such as analytics, may also use what they collect under their own privacy policies, including for advertising. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter.
- Access, correct or delete your information by emailing jsmith@lehighdaily.com. We keep records the law requires us to keep.
- Browser privacy signals: we don’t currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You can limit how analytics and ad providers use your activity through your browser settings, ad blockers or those providers’ own ad settings.
Retention
We keep information as long as we need it to provide our services, or until you ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. If a breach affected your personal information, we would notify you as the law requires.
Children
Lehigh Daily is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
