Amanda Seyfried receives hometown gift basket from Allentown Farmers Market
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — When Hollywood star Amanda Seyfried thinks of home, the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market comes to mind.
The Allentown native and award-winning actress recently received a basket of local favorites from market vendors after mentioning in an upcoming interview that she misses the market’s charm and flavors.
“We were contacted last week about an interview she was getting ready to do and how items from the farmers market would make her happy,” said Laurie Boracchia, owner of the Allentown market. “So we put together a big basket of really neat things — a step back for her.”
The basket featured treats from across the market, including cookies from AP Cookies, baked goods from Southern Delights, candy from Mints Candies and Gifts, honey, jams, pretzels and T-shirts from The Ritz Barbecue and Mountainview Horse Rescue.

“She loved it,” Boracchia said. “We were so excited to receive these photos today. She loves this wonderful gem of Allentown.”
Seyfried, 39, grew up in Allentown and graduated from William Allen High School in 2003. She began modeling and acting as a teenager before breaking out in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls. Since then, she has starred in numerous hit films and television series, including Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables, Dear John and Hulu’s The Dropout, for which she won an Emmy Award in 2022.
Her ties to the Lehigh Valley run deep — her grandfather once served on the board of the Allentown Symphony.
Seyfried has two new films set for release in December: The Housemaid and Testament of Ann Lee.
The Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market, a local landmark for more than 70 years, houses more than 60 vendors and continues to be a community staple.
