BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley will hold its annual Bountiful Bowl fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 7, at B Social, with a goal of raising $50,000 for its Meal Subsidy Program.
The organization says the program helps clients get nutritious meals regardless of their ability to pay, and that it subsidizes meals for about 75% of the clients it serves each day. It says $50,000 would cover about one month of those subsidies. If that month is typical, a year of subsidies would run about $600,000.
The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. at B Social, 3717 Route 378 in Bethlehem. A bowling session open to all ages runs from 4 to 6 p.m. An adults-only celebration follows from 6 to 9 p.m. with bowling, food, drinks and table games. The organization lists the attire as business casual.
The organization’s Instagram account says tickets are available through the link in its bio, and details are on its event page. It has not said what tickets cost.
“The Meal Subsidy Program sits at the heart of MOWGLV’s mission,” said Melanie Kohler, the organization’s chief executive officer, in a news release. “Bountiful Bowl brings our community together to help ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious meals and the support they need to remain independent at home.”
Sponsorship questions go to Dina Kovats-Bernat at 610-419-6289.
The organization is a private nonprofit that serves Lehigh and Northampton counties and parts of Carbon County. It says it serves more than 2,000 seniors and adults with disabilities, from age 19 to 106.
