Bethlehem man wanted on strangulation charge after domestic violence incident, police say
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bethlehem police are searching for a 42-year-old man accused in a domestic violence incident Wednesday in the 1000 block of Mechanic Street.
Police said an arrest warrant has been obtained for Carlos Figueroa, of Bethlehem, after officers investigated the June 3 incident.
Figueroa is wanted on charges of strangulation, criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment, police said. The strangulation and simple assault charges are domestic violence-related, according to police.
Court records show the case was filed June 3 in Northampton County Magisterial District Court. The docket lists the case as awaiting a preliminary hearing.
A female victim sustained injuries during the incident, police said. The department did not identify the victim and Lehigh Daily is not naming her because she is an alleged domestic violence victim.

Figueroa fled before officers arrived and was not in custody as of Thursday morning, police said.
Police declined to release the police report or additional details, citing the active criminal investigation and the fact that the case involves a domestic violence victim.
Anyone with information about Figueroa’s whereabouts is asked to contact Bethlehem police at 610-865-7000.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
