Residents are invited to help bring a new public art project to life on Wednesday, June 18, starting at 5 p.m, during a free community paint workshop hosted by local artist and educator Carla Majczan.

The event, held at the Bethlehem Visitor Center and presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, invites participants of all ages and experience levels to contribute to a mural celebrating South Bethlehem’s culture and community. Majczan, a Bethlehem Area School District teacher, will guide attendees through the painting process.

“This free workshop is an opportunity to allow people of all ages and artistic ability to add their mark to the mural panels,” Lisa Harms, ArtsQuest senior director of visual arts and education, said. “The mural expresses the importance of access to healthy foods in our community. Visitors will be encouraged to help paint the murals that will be added to the building at 331 Broadway for the entire community to enjoy.”

No prior art experience is required, and materials will be provided.

The workshop will continue into the evening with a free outdoor screening of Cinderella at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks.
