ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Country music superstar Luke Bryan will perform at PPL Center on June 25 as part of his newly announced “Word on the Street Tour,” the venue announced Friday morning on Facebook.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. through the PPL Center website and box office at 701 Hamilton St. Presales for fan club members begin Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The five-time Entertainer of the Year had been dropping hints on social media since Wednesday before unveiling the tour Friday with a video featuring several of the artists joining him on the road. The tour name plays off his teaser posts.

Bryan, 49, is no stranger to the Lehigh Valley. He last performed in the region as part of a 2012 show with Jason Aldean at the Allentown Fair grandstand that set a box office record of $858,391 and drew more than 14,500 fans — the fair’s largest crowd in 17 years at the time.

He returned to headline the fair the following year.
