ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Vice President JD Vance is expected to deliver a speech in the Lehigh Valley next week focused on the economy, echoing themes President Donald Trump emphasized during remarks Tuesday night at Mount Airy Casino Resort in the Poconos.

Vance’s office confirmed he will appear in Allentown. Specific details regarding the timing and location were not immediately available. The visit is part of the administration’s broader effort to reassure voters it is working to address inflation, an issue that continues to weigh heavily on households nationwide.

A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that more than half of voters believe the Trump administration is losing the fight against inflation.

The appearance will mark Vance’s first visit to the Lehigh Valley since taking office. Earlier this year, he traveled to Northeast Pennsylvania to promote the administration’s signature “One Big Beautiful Bill,” a sweeping legislative package championed by the White House.

Trump’s remarks Tuesday were intended to emphasize his administration’s focus on combating inflation, which has remained a political vulnerability. At one point, Trump questioned why the United States could not accept more immigrants from Scandinavian countries and referred to Haiti and Somalia as “shithole countries,” also describing them as “filthy, dirty and disgusting.”

Vance’s upcoming appearance is expected to continue the administration’s economic messaging as it seeks to build support in a politically competitive region. Additional details about the event are expected to be released ahead of the visit.
