BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Musikfest organizers are warning fans about a rise in scam ticket sales ahead of country artist Megan Moroney’s upcoming performance, urging concertgoers to purchase only through official channels.
In a recent Instagram post, the Bethlehem-based festival said third-party sellers have been offering fake or overpriced tickets to Moroney’s July 31 performance. Organizers said the only authorized place to buy passes — including general admission and Oasis tickets — is the official Musikfest website.
“We do not suggest going to third-party sites for tickets — 1) because of the prices, 2) there’s no guarantee they’re actual tickets,” the post said. “If you’re willing to take the risk, yolo, but again, ArtsQuest is not liable for any purchases made outside musikfest.org for this specific show.”
The warning comes as multiple fans have reported scams online. Festival officials said similar schemes have targeted major shows in past years and reminded fans to avoid sellers requesting payment through apps such as Zelle, Venmo or Cash App, which typically offer no buyer protections.
The Megan Moroney concert is currently sold out, but officials said additional general admission passes may become available closer to the show if any inventory is returned.
“Tickets will be released periodically,” the post said. “Our only recommendation is checking back regularly because we’re not made aware when those drops happen.”
Anyone who suspects they’ve been scammed is encouraged to report the incident to Musikfest and contact their payment provider.
Musikfest runs July 31 to Aug. 10 in Bethlehem, with free performances throughout the city and several headline concerts at Wind Creek Steel Stage.
