Razor blades discovered in hot dogs scattered along Easton’s Silk Mill Trail
EASTON, Pa. — Community members are urged to exercise caution after an individual found razor blades hidden inside pieces of hot dogs along the Silk Mill Trail near Bushkill Street in Easton.
An anonymous user posted a warning in the Everything EASTON Facebook group after their dog picked up a hot dog that contained a concealed razor blade in a pile of leaves. Shortly after the post gained attention, the Easton Police Department was notified of the incident.
Resident Timothy Smith took action by putting up warning signs at the trail entrances to alert other pet owners to the potential danger.
Residents suggested additional safety measures, including contacting Mighty Pawz Special Operations and the Humane Society at 484-935-3720. You can request Officer Rozak or Officer Salzer, who were both recently sworn in in their official capacity, to serve Northampton County.
Some community members proposed using metal detectors along the trail to locate and remove any further hazardous materials.
