UPPER MILFORD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 1½-year-old boy died Thursday after reportedly being struck by a vehicle in Lehigh County, authorities said.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. in the 5300 block of Bachman Road in Upper Milford Township, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center.

The toddler was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. in the trauma bay.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the coroner’s office to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville Station is investigating the incident along with the coroner’s office.

Authorities have identified the child but are withholding his name to allow the family privacy.

“On behalf of myself and the entire staff of the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the child’s family,” Coroner Daniel Buglio said. “Our thoughts are with them during this time of unimaginable grief.”
