EASTON, Pa. — A woman connected to the case of missing Easton teenager Aubrey “Enci” Wu has released a public statement addressing allegations made against her during the investigation.
Fay Fenstermacher, 77, issued the statement on April 2, which was initially leaked on Reddit on the 3rd by an unknown person before being officially confirmed.
Wu, 14, has been missing since January 10, 2025, when she was last seen by her parents, Jade Wu and John Gehrmann.
Surveillance footage captured the teen at a Wawa in Whitehall Township on January 11, and later at a dog show at a corporate sports arena in New Jersey that same day.
In her statement, Fenstermacher claims she has cooperated fully with law enforcement, speaking with investigators 10 times without legal representation.
She said her home and property were “thoroughly searched by the Pennsylvania State Police on January 11” with her permission.
“I did not know Aubrey prior to our encounter, nor have I had any contact with her after, and contrary to others’ speculations, I did not pick up Aubrey at the Wawa/Panera in Whitehall or anywhere else,” Fenstermacher wrote.

Fenstermacher states she is a “longtime resident of the Lehigh Valley” who has been retired for over 10 years, denying speculation that she owns a construction business.
On February 25, 2025, Fenstermacher and her legal team sent a cease-and-desist letter to Gehrmann and Wu, alleging harassment and the spread of misinformation.
The letter, sent by attorney Michael S. Horvath II of Gross McGinley LLP, ordered Wu’s parents to stop making what it called “false, defamatory and harassing statements.”
The cease-and-desist specifically referenced online posts claiming the Fenstermachers were “harboring” Wu, had taken her to Vail, Colorado, and allegations of sex trafficking.
According to Fenstermacher’s statement, local police and law enforcement agencies have indicated the investigation is “of a non-criminal nature.”
Wu’s parents are being represented by attorneys Alexandria Crouthamel and Thomas Bosworth, who stated in February that they “have reason to believe she was accompanied by an adult multi-corporation owner who was not authorized to be with her” at the New Jersey dog show.
Today marks 83 days since Wu’s disappearance.
