BETHLEHEM, PA – The Golden Hawks hosted Harry S. Truman High School Saturday afternoon, securing a victory with a hard-fought 58-54 win.

The Golden Hawks ran to a 27-12 lead at halftime, capitalizing on all areas on defense and a relentless offensive attack. The Tigers answered in the third quarter due to steady 3-point shooting and a good effort on defense. This cut the deficit by 4 points late into the fourth quarter.

Despite the Tigers’ valiant effort, Jack Rushe (forward) proved to be unstoppable on offense. He led his team with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

His teammates rose to the occasion as well. Ethan Roman (point guard) put on a show with 12 points, while Jackson Wickenheiser (shooting guard) contributed 11 points, showcasing a hot hand throughout the game.

While it can always be exciting to watch a team score points, the main highlight of this game was the return of  Bethlehem Catholics’ own Marcus Drysdale (Forward).

Drysdale has had to miss the last two seasons due to injury. His return brought energy and inspiration to his team in his comeback performance.

The Golden Hawks improved to 8-9, winning their last four out of five games, while Harry S. Truman dropped to 6-10.

In speaking with Roman, Wickenheiser, and Rushe, all three players emphasized teamwork, leadership, and ball movement.

Bethlehem Catholic’s EPC Divisional game next week should be challenging. All eyes will be on them as they try to continue their winning streak.
