ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will rebrand as the “Lehigh Valley Tomato Pie” for their annual “Salute to Philly” promotion on May 23 at Coca-Cola Park.
The Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies will don special uniforms featuring a tomato red base with parmesan cheese flecks and a unique wordmark during their 7:05 p.m. game against the Buffalo Bisons.
“Tomato Pie is quintessential Philadelphia,” said IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. “Philadelphia-style tomato pie with a dusting of parmesan cheese is the best and only true tomato pie. I challenge anyone who feels differently.”

Fans can purchase a special ticket package for $16 that includes game admission and a slice of authentic tomato pie from Morabito Baking Co., a fourth-generation Norristown business operating since 1932.
Philadelphia tomato pie, dating back to 1910, features a focaccia-like dough topped with tomato sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.
Unlike pizza, it’s served at room temperature.
The promotional game continues the IronPigs’ tradition of Philadelphia-themed nights, which have previously celebrated cheesesteaks, “jawn,” hoagies, and mummers since the series began in 2016.
Merchandise including t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts is available at the Clubhouse Store and online at shopironpigs.com.
Tickets for the May 23 game are available online, at the Provident Bank Box Office, or by calling (610) 841-PIGS.
