EASTON, PA — Councilman Frank J. Pintabone will distribute free turkeys to Easton residents in need on Nov. 22, marking the 13th year of the community tradition.

The giveaway will take place at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Second and Northampton streets, in front of American Printing. More than 300 turkeys will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no questions asked.

Pintabone started the annual event 13 years ago as part of his longtime commitment to community service. He has served on nonprofit boards since age 19 and also organizes a back-to-school giveaway that distributes more than 600 backpacks annually, as well as a Christmas toy drive with Larry Holmes.

“This event has always been about neighbors helping neighbors,” Pintabone said. “I’m deeply grateful to the volunteers, local partners and community supporters who make it possible to bring smiles and warm meals to Easton families every holiday season.”

The turkey giveaway is funded through donations from local businesses and partners. Donations are processed through the Pintabone Family Foundation. He purchases turkeys from local grocery stores, negotiating bulk rates of about $1.55 per pound for 10- to 12-pound birds.

This year, Pintabone plans to increase the number of turkeys by 50 to meet rising community demand. The increase comes as residents face reduced SNAP benefits—the Trump administration is currently providing only 50% of expected November benefits due to an ongoing federal government shutdown.

Pintabone has also delivered two pallets of food to Project of Easton, Safe Harbor Easton and the Hispanic Center of the Lehigh Valley this week.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, he and Councilwoman Crystal Rose will host a community food drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Scott Park near the Larry Holmes statue during the Easton Farmers Market. Donations will support Project Easton and The Neighborhood Center food pantries.

Residents unable to attend the turkey giveaway can email Pintabone to arrange delivery. He maintains a list of approximately 45 seniors who receive turkey deliveries the night before the event.
