LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Giant and Martin’s shoppers whose rewards points were set to expire Oct. 31 will have until Nov. 30 to use them, the chain said Monday, as its website and app stay down for a second week.

“We will automatically extend any points that were set to expire on 10/31 to be good through 11/30,” Giant spokesperson Ashley Flower said in a statement. “This will reflect in customers’ account balance on 11/1, and no action is required from the customer.”

Points still work meanwhile: shoppers can earn them by entering a phone number or scanning a Giant or Martin’s card at checkout and can redeem them for eligible gas discounts at the pump, Giant has said.

Parent company Ahold Delhaize, which took the sites offline after a cybersecurity incident, said in an update Monday that “E-commerce services at our Ahold Delhaize USA brands are expected to come back in the coming days.” It gave no date for Giant’s site and app.

Giant’s stores, including 15 in Lehigh and Northampton counties, remain open with their pharmacies and fuel stations, according to an outage notice still on the chain’s website Monday night. The notice points online shoppers to DoorDash, Instacart and Uber Eats.

Giant is also offering 10% off an in-store purchase, up to $10, through Thursday. Giant has said the offer went out by email, shoppers must mention it to the cashier and it is limited to one redemption per household.

A sign on the door of the Giant on Nazareth Pike in Bethlehem Township said Monday that the store “will automatically honor all digital coupons featured during the 10/16–10/22 ad week.”

A sign taped to a glass door reads "We are currently experiencing a system outage" above a note on digital coupons, with grocery displays visible inside the store.

Ahold Delhaize said Monday that its investigation “confirmed the suspicious activity resulted from the malicious actions of others.” It said it filed a formal police report with Dutch police Monday.

“While our investigation is still ongoing, we have no evidence at this moment that suggests that any sensitive customer, associate or partner data was taken,” the company said.

Ahold Delhaize first disclosed the incident Oct. 12. It has not said what kind of attack it was or who was behind it.
