Sabrina Carpenter mentions Bethlehem, Pa., Limeport Inn in new Nardwuar interview
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Pop star Sabrina Carpenter discussed her Pennsylvania origins and local connections during a recent interview with popular culture interviewer Nardwuar, filmed at Record Safari in Los Angeles.
The singer, born in Quakertown and raised in East Greenville and Lower Milford Township, referenced several Lehigh Valley locations during the conversation, including Bethlehem and the Limeport Inn.
“I’m from Pennsylvania, but I was from like the middle of nowhere, right? So like cows would be in the middle of the road,” Carpenter said, explaining the regional accent in her voice.
She described her accent as something between her mother’s Philadelphia accent and a rural Pennsylvania dialect.

Carpenter recalled performing at the Limeport Inn as a 6-year-old, describing how she would sing “Happy Birthday” to restaurant tables.
“Some people would like offer me money and be like, oh, you’re so good, here’s a five,” she said. “My parents would say, No, Sabrina, you can’t take the money. And I was like, but I’m, you know, but this is my job at the end of the day.”
The interview also touched on Carpenter’s participation in a talent competition at Nazareth Area High School when she was 11 years old, where she won a singing contest held by the American Lung Association.
Carpenter has maintained connections to the Lehigh Valley throughout her career. She was a longtime fan of Bethlehem’s annual Musikfest before returning in 2016 to headline the festival, becoming the first Lehigh Valley native to do so.
The Disney Channel alumna has since achieved mainstream pop success with multiple chart-topping singles and albums.
