EASTON, Pa. — Salaam Bros, a halal restaurant on Northampton Street in Easton’s West Ward, will give away free Nashville hot chicken sandwiches at its grand opening Saturday.

The giveaway runs from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1300 Northampton St., according to a TikTok video announcing the opening. The restaurant hasn’t said how many sandwiches it will hand out, only that once they’re gone, they’re gone.

“No catch, bring your friends, family, and come see what we’ve been working on,” a speaker says in the video, which calls Saturday the day the restaurant is “officially launching” Salaam Bros.

The name is new, but the kitchen isn’t. Salaam Bros shares its storefront and Google listing with Salaam Arabian Kitchen, a halal restaurant that has served gyros and platters at the address since at least 2024. State records list only one Salaam business at that address.

That business, Salaam LLC, was formed Feb. 14, 2025, with its principal office at 1300 Northampton St., according to state records. State records list Mohammad Ashraf as its governor and vice president. Several Google reviewers wrote last year that the restaurant had changed owners around that time.

The link in Salaam Bros’ Instagram profile opens the Salaam Arabian Kitchen Google listing. Recent reviewers there use both names and praise Salaam Bros’ smashburgers alongside the older menu’s butter chicken and kebabs.

Salaam Arabian Kitchen’s website and Google listing remain active, and Salaam Bros’ posts don’t say whether the new name replaces the old one.

Salaam Bros’ Instagram profile lists gyros and platters, smashburgers and Nashville hot chicken, under the tagline “Every Meal Begins With Salaam.”

The Salaam Arabian Kitchen menu already offers a $7.99 “Salaam Burger,” the same name Salaam Bros gave a burger in a June TikTok post. The Nashville hot chicken, loaded chicken fries, and fried Oreos in Salaam Bros’ videos aren’t on that menu.

Salaam Bros has been promoting the name for six months. Its first TikTok post, on April 2, read “Easton coming soon,” and the account has posted 47 short videos.

Its most-watched video, posted Sept. 19 with about 44,000 views, says the restaurant turned an old Dunkin’ into its space. Uber Eats still lists a closed Dunkin’ at 1300 Northampton St.

The address was also home to Lasheen’s, a Mediterranean restaurant that the West Ward Community Initiative listed there in its neighborhood business directory in December 2020.

The grand opening posts don’t list regular hours or the normal price of the hot chicken sandwich. The Salaam Arabian Kitchen Google listing shows the storefront open until 11 p.m.
