EASTON, Pa. — Two people are facing charges in connection with a July shooting in Easton that left six people injured, authorities announced Tuesday.

Yandiel Onil Gonzalez, 16, and Dante Holmes-Eutsey, 20, both of Easton, are charged in the July 12 incident that unfolded around 11:30 p.m. in the 100 block of East Wilkes Barre Street.

Gonzalez, who remains at large, is accused of opening fire that night and is considered by police to be “armed and dangerous.” He faces six counts of attempted homicide, six counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, and six counts of reckless endangerment. Police said he will be tried as an adult.

Holmes-Eutsey is accused of conspiring in the shooting and faces charges including criminal conspiracy to commit homicide and aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and reckless endangerment. He is currently in custody at Lehigh County Jail on unrelated charges stemming from a separate incident in Allentown and will be arraigned on the new charges at a later date.

Easton Police Lt. Matt Gerould said investigators identified Gonzalez as the shooter and Holmes-Eutsey as an accomplice. The charges were announced jointly by the Easton Police Department and the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.

Six people were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries following the shooting. Authorities have not released information about a possible motive and said the investigation remains active.

“This shooting investigation is still active and ongoing,” police said in a news release.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact Easton police.
