Two injured in shooting at Sizzling Bites in Bethlehem
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bethlehem police are investigating a shooting that injured two people early Friday at a restaurant on the South Side.
Officers responded shortly after midnight Friday to reports of gunfire at Sizzling Bites, located at 312 E. Third Street, according to a news release from the department. When they arrived, they found an adult victim with gunshot wounds to the body. The individual was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said a second adult victim arrived at a hospital shortly afterward in a personal vehicle, also suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were reported to be in stable condition as of Friday morning.
There were other customers inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting, but no additional injuries were reported.
When contacted for comment, restaurant owner Abdul Wali said he didn’t have specific details about the incident beyond confirming that two people were injured and are in good health.
Wali said he and his staff plan to visit the victims and expressed his sincere apologies to customers who were dining with their families during the frightening incident.
“I am really sorry for all the customers that were with their family,” Wali said, adding that the restaurant is “planning to have better safety for future and hire Bethlehem PD to have a safe environment for our late night weekends.”
Shortly after the incident, Sizzling Bites posted an update on their Instagram stories to reassure the community that all patrons were safe.
Police said no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
