ALLENTOWN, PA — The Great Allentown Fair will hold its first annual scrapple eating contest on Saturday, August 31st, sponsored by Stoltzfus Meats of Intercourse, Pa.
The competition, which takes place at the Astound Broadband Farmerama Theatre Stage at 3 p.m., is free for all fair attendees to view.
Registered contestants will compete against each other in group five to assert their scrapple-eating dominance.
Whoever consumes the most Scrapple by weight within two minutes will be crowned the winner.
Contestants who can’t hold their weight and “upchuck” will be disqualified.
No information about whether organizers will provide condiments is available, but past events offered Syrup and Ketchup. Utensils are optional.
The top three contestants will be recognized, and each will receive rewards as listed below:
- 1st place – $200 plus Stoltzfus Gift Bag of Goodies ($95 value)
- 2nd place – $100 plus Stoltzfus Gift Bag of Goodies ($75 value)
- 3rd place – $50 plus Stoltzfus Gift Certificate ($55 value)
Stoltzfus Meats recently introduced this competition, debuting at the Ephrata Fair in 2023.
The winners were Brandon Bartholomew (36.6 oz), Logan Fisher (36 oz), and Dutchy Dave (31.1 oz).
It was well-received, generating excitement for the upcoming showdown at the Allentown Fair.
