SAUCON VALLEY, Pa. — Relux, a consignment store specializing in authenticated, discounted luxury items, opened May 19 at the Promenade Saucon Valley.

The store offers pre-owned luxury goods from brands including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Prada and Chanel.

Relux was founded by Coleman Nichelson, a 22-year-old recent New York University graduate. After studying abroad in Dubai and moving from New York, which hosts many luxury consignment stores, he said he saw an unfulfilled opportunity in the Lehigh Valley.

“I decided I wanted to open my own place because in the Lehigh Valley, existing options offer only uncompetitive commission splits,” Nichelson said.

Relux’s current average consignment commission is around 70%, which Nichelson said is on par with what most handbags receive. Typical consignment commissions fall in the 60-80% range, with items under $200 falling below 55%.

“Something that we’re really firm on here is we only take items in very good condition or better,” Nichelson said. “So if we wouldn’t want to have it ourselves, we won’t take it here. Our consignors and our customers know that you don’t have to worry about items being ripped, torn or falling apart.”

The store offers a 30-day exchange policy on all items not on sale. An online portal allows consignors to view how long their items have been on the sales floor and get notified when they sell. Payments can be requested anytime through cash, check, PayPal or another preferred method.

Customers can also browse over 1,000+ products on ShopRelux.com to get an idea ahead of a visit or make a purchase directly on the site.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Nichelson said he wants to bring global inspiration to the local community.

“We’re bringing Fifth Avenue to the Lehigh Valley,” he said.
