LEHIGH TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Becky’s Drive-In is the only independent theater in and around the Lehigh Valley listing “Other Mommy,” the Jessica Chastain horror film that opens Friday.
The drive-in on Lehigh Drive announced Wednesday that it will show the film Oct. 9 and 10 and again Oct. 16 and 17. It said it would name the co-feature Monday.
None of the 11 other independent screens in the valley and neighboring counties listed the film as of Saturday. Most of their October calendars lean on horror classics and Halloween events, including a Saturday-night John Carpenter series in Bethlehem and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at four of them.
Universal Pictures’ “Other Mommy,” directed by Rob Savage, follows an 8-year-old girl who faces an entity from her closet. It is rated R for “some bloody violence and language.”
At Becky’s
Becky’s runs double features on two screens, and one admission covers both films. This weekend’s schedule listed $12 for adults and $8 for children 4 to 12, which works out to $6 or $4 a film.
Oct. 10 is also the first night of Becky’s annual Trunk-or-Treat, with a visit from the Warrington and Southeast PA Ghostbusters and a screening of the original “Ghostbusters,” the drive-in said on Instagram.
