ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The End Bookstore in Allentown will welcome acclaimed author Martha Wells on her national tour for “Queen Demon,” the highly anticipated sequel to her bestselling novel “Witch King.”
The event, set for Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m., will feature Wells in conversation with New York Times bestselling author Chuck Wendig, known for “Wanderers,” “The Book of Accidents” and “Black River Orchard.” Doors open at 6 p.m.
Published by Tor Books, “Queen Demon” continues the story that began with “Witch King,” an epic fantasy exploring power, friendship, trust and betrayal. The first book earned widespread acclaim, landing on bestseller lists and winning the Locus Award, while also being named among The New York Times’ and NPR’s Best Books of the Year.
Wells is best known for “The Murderbot Diaries” series, which has won multiple Hugo, Nebula, Locus and Alex awards and was recently adapted into an Apple Original TV series. Her other works include “City of Bones,” “Wheel of the Infinite,” “The Books of the Raksura” and the Nebula-nominated “The Death of the Necromancer.”
Her on-stage partner for the evening, Wendig, is a Lehigh Valley native and author of more than two dozen novels.
Tickets are required for the event and must be purchased in advance. Each event ticket includes a copy of “Queen Demon,” while plus-one tickets include a $10 coupon toward any purchase at the event.
