BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Community Church will hold a free Fall Fest on Sunday at Northeast Middle School, an event the church is billing as the launch of its new Bethlehem campus.

The festival follows the church’s 10 a.m. service at the school, 1170 Fernwood St., and is open to everyone, according to the church’s Oct. 1 announcement. The announcement lists free food, a live DJ and line dancing, bounce houses, face painting, pony rides, and a petting zoo, but gives no end time.

“Bethlehem is home now, and we believe one of the best ways to build community is simply by bringing people together,” Campus Pastor Michael Wolk said in the announcement. “We want to create a place where friendships grow, families feel welcome, and people can discover and deepen their faith.”

The campus has been taking shape since at least April, when the church’s website listed different pastors and a different school, according to current and archived versions of the site.

That month, the church’s Bethlehem campus page said it was “in the process of launching” the campus and listed 10 a.m. Sunday services at William Penn Elementary School, 1002 Main St. It named Nate and Val Moyer as campus pastors, with a biography saying the couple “joined the City Center team in late 2020.”

In early June, Our City Center Church, based in Berkeley, Calif., listed the Moyers as leaders of its “East Coast Hub” in Bethlehem, with 10 a.m. Sunday gatherings at William Penn Elementary. That page now returns a “page not found” message.

Community Church’s Bethlehem page now says the campus “is now meeting” at Northeast Middle School and lists Wolk as campus pastor.

The Oct. 1 announcement does not mention the earlier location, the Moyers or City Center Church.

The church has held Fall Fest before. After its 2024 festival, it said on Facebook that “over 100 people made a decision to follow Jesus.”

The church’s website also lists a separate Fall Fest on Sunday at its Poconos campus at 1050 Memorial Blvd. in Tobyhanna, Monroe County, where it holds Sunday services at 9:30 and 11 a.m. It also holds a monthly 6 p.m. service at the Scranton Cultural Center.

Community Church describes itself as a faith-centered community and says on its website that it has been sharing “life and faith together” since 2002. David and Bekah Crosby lead the church as pastors, according to the site.
