FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. — Fountain Hill residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of old electronics this weekend during a free community recycling event.
The borough will host the drop-off on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Upper Dodson Street Ballfield parking lot, located at 839 Dodson St.
Residents can bring up to five electronic items — “anything with a plug,” according to organizers — at no charge. Proof of residency is required.
The event aims to reduce the amount of electronic waste going into local landfills by encouraging residents to recycle devices such as laptops, monitors, small appliances and other plug-in items.
Borough officials said the collection day also helps keep hazardous materials, including batteries and internal components, out of the environment.
The recycling event is open only to Fountain Hill residents.
