LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — Six after-dark markets and market nights are set in and around the Lehigh Valley this month, starting Thursday in Reading and peaking the weekend of Oct. 23-24.
Four of the six have dates that weekend, and three fall on Saturday, Oct. 24, alone: the Witches’ Walk and Market After Hours in Easton and the Witches’ Midnight Market in Lehighton. Hours, prices, and lineups below come from organizers’ websites and Facebook posts.
Here they are in date order.
Reading, Thursday. GoggleWorks Center for the Arts holds a Halloween Reading Roots Night Market from 5 to 8 p.m. at 201 Washington St., with artisan vendors, a costume contest, food from Thorn Alley Kitchen and live music from 7 to 8 p.m., according to GoggleWorks. It is also the last day of this year’s Reading Roots Market season.
Skippack, three Fridays. Skippack Village in Montgomery County holds October Night Markets from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and again on Oct. 16 and Oct. 23, with a different theme each night: Apple Fest, Witches & Warlocks and Ghost Walk. The village’s Facebook page lists fire dancers, hayrides, food trucks, and village-wide vendors.
Center Valley, Saturday. Simply Soulful Events’ Moonlight Market runs from 4 to 9 p.m. at Upper Saucon Social Quarters, 4900 Lanark Road in Upper Saucon Township, rain or shine. The organizer listed more than 30 vendors, face painting, food, drinks, and music in an Oct. 5 post; its earlier flyer listed 40 vendors indoors and out. The club’s October newsletter lists the market as open to the public.
Easton, Oct. 23-24. Easton’s second annual Witches’ Walk runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in Centre Square and from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in Scott Park, according to Easton Main Street Initiative’s schedule. Friday brings live music, tarot readings, henna, face painting, and a walking magic show; Saturday has potion-inspired treats, magical games, and a costume contest. The initiative’s festival page also lists local vendors, fire spinning and a dance party.
Lehighton, Oct. 24. The Witches’ Midnight Market runs in downtown Lehighton from 2 to 10 p.m. with free admission, food trucks, live music, a DJ and a costume contest. Its website lists 150-plus vendors; the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau put the number at 125-plus in an Oct. 3 post.
“This is our 4th year and the event that started the rest,” the market’s Facebook page said in a June post.
Easton, Oct. 24, late. Easton Public Market’s Market After Hours goes Halloween-themed from 9 p.m. to midnight, with live music from the Blue Jacks, DJ sets by the Nite Liters and a costume contest.
