“We thought this would be a really good opportunity,” Pyott said. “I definitely haven’t been here before, and it just seemed like a really good opportunity to get into a new area and…meet new people and MeLVin just loves being with kids.”
Monroe expressed what she loved the most about MeLVin’s visit.
“My favorite part was the interaction that MeLVin had with the story I was reading that also with the kids around,” Monroe said. “He definitely made everybody feel welcome, and that is just the perfect thing you want for a library.”
Pyott also emphasized how well MeLVin was with the kids.
“I feel like he’s to some kids he’s a little scary but it’s cool seeing…kids…going out of their comfort zone and being comfortable with him…because at the end of the day, he’s just like a big fluffy best friend. He is like a little teddy bear.”
The PPL Center has big plans for the summer.
Pyott described what they and MeLVin have in store.
“We do have a very exciting camp day coming up, where we have different camps come to PPL Center,” Pyott said. “So we have that coming up in July. We’re starting to get ready for the season, so starting to plan…our schedule release which is really exciting. MeLVin will be involved in that.”
The Emmaus Public Library also has many activities lined up for the rest of the summer. Visit their website for more information.
