BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Musikfest will move most outdoor performances indoors for Thursday’s preview night as forecasters warn of severe weather and possible flash flooding.

The festival said on social media that shows set for the Air Products Americaplatz stage at Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks will now take place inside the Musikfest Café. Performances scheduled for the Highmark Blue Shield Community Stage on Air Products Town Square will shift to the Williams Brew Stage on the first floor of the ArtsQuest Center.

Several acts were slated between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Country artist Megan Moroney’s sold-out show at the Wind Creek Steel Stage is still on for 7:15 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Umbrellas are not permitted, but rain ponchos will be sold at the venue.

Any further updates will appear in the Musikfest app and on its social media channels.

“Musikfest is rain or shine, and we’ll always make decisions with the safety of our patrons, staff, volunteers and performers as the top priority,” organizers said in a statement.

Thursday is preview night; only South Side venues are open. The 10-day festival officially begins Friday and spans both sides of Bethlehem.

The National Weather Service has a flash flood watch in effect for the Lehigh Valley from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, calling for rainfall of 1 to 3 inches an hour, with localized totals of 5 to 7 inches. Significant flash flooding is possible.
