BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Northeast Community Center will host its annual Basket Social this Saturday, June 7th, from 10 am to 1 pm at 1161 Fritz Drive in Bethlehem.
The fundraising event will feature over 60 raffle baskets and special golden ticket prizes valued at $75 or more. Regular raffle tickets are available at 20 for $5, while golden ticket entries cost 10 for $20.
Winners will be selected at 1 p.m., and they do not need to be present to win. The community center will contact the winners after the drawing.
“I like bringing new folks into our community center,” said Paula Johnson, Executive Director of Northeast Community Center. “We are in Marvine-Pembroke, so it’s not really a place that most people need to come to if you don’t live here. I like that our donors and supporters can come and actually see our facility.”
The event operates as an open house format, allowing visitors to come and go as they please throughout the three hours.
Proceeds from the basket social support the center’s four core programs: a food pantry, hygiene product pantry, summer camp programming, and family bingo nights. The summer camp is scheduled to begin on June 16th.
The basket social is one of the center’s primary fundraisers, along with a designer purse bingo held in the fall. The funds help maintain general operations and ensure the continuity of year-round programming.
